12 Principles Reading and example

I saw this commercial on tv and just had to use it for this assignment. I think the way this commercial uses its text and effects for it is so effective and you can really tell they are using the 12 principles of animation to create these fluid effects. For example, towards the end where it says bounce back, it has it bounce and also it has one word get affected by the other in a way to show them bumping into each other; which means they were using the idea of secondary motion. The way the words move seem to be using ease in and outs, as well as squash and stretch. I also think it does a good job of using exaggeration in the way the words shape changes overall to create life to the words; overall this video really shows a lot of elements of the 12 principles of animation and is a great example of a real life use of this that I have seen in my daily life.

Assignment two 3 drafts

Assignment One

This is my completed video piece for this first assignment in Motion Graphics. I used the De Stijl movement as my style of inspiration. I like the simpleness of geometry and what you are able to do with it. I enjoy using shapes and lines with varying levels of opacity to feel like I am creating a separate dimension within the composition. Since this is my first time using after effects I figured it would be a nice transitioning way to get to know the tools by seeing what all I can do with just individual shapes and lines. I feel like in the De Stijl paintings, you can feel the character each shape and line possess, so here in my motion graphic version of De Stijl I decided to bring that idea to live and give each shape and line a feeling of their own that we can actually see. The second half of my piece is probably my favorite, I really liked how I had the shapes behind the lines and then switched them to in front of the lines while they were rotating to their new locations on screen, and then after that the shapes scale down and disappear while the lines grow and disappear, then eventually lead the composition to a place where a loop can occur. As for my intended audience of this piece, it would have to be anyone interested in the De Stijl movement or anyone getting to know the beginning basics of after effects. Lastly just to note a few of the principles I used, they would include: squash and stretch, secondary motion, and ease in/ outs as well as other characterizations with the graph and speed.

3 Artists or Studios I like for Motion Graphics

 https://henriquebarone.com

This person has a variety of types of motion graphics they make. But what caught. my eye most were the simple figures doing very eloquent motions. The way that the artist has these characters moving so swiftly I what makes this motion graphic art so good. All of the motions feel like they move to perfectly together and they do not feel bland at all.

Here is my next company that I like. I enjoyed this one right away because of how interesting the website is. I like how instantly when you go on the website you encounter motion graphics worked into their site and how you use it and interact with it. This is a company that makes graphic videos for other companies, but in general they have a very nice company due to their motion graphic skills.

I think this company does a great job at being a motion graphics video creation business for other businesses. I really like that they tailor their styles based off of the company in which they are creating the video for. All of the ones I watched seemed to have great motion and transition between scenes which make the whole thing flow so well.

3 motion graphics I like

This video is about informing the viewer and consumer about their healthy baby food. It goes on to tell you how they make it and what goes in it and why its so good. I think this video is successful because the little drawing overtop the real video footage makes for it to be eye catching and interesting also it really helps to show how much they go through in order to give us this quality product.

This interface on Nike's website allows you to see all angles of the shoe and it allows you to customize all of the colors while giving you the real time updates of what it would look like. I think that in order to have this type of movement there needs to be some aspect of motion graphics within it. You are able to even press the arrows and it moves it on its own, and you can zoom and manipulate it however you'd like.

I found this video a while back when looking to stop motion, but here I am showing it again because I really think it is super successful. This video is so entertaining to me and I love how each motion is so personal depending on the fruit and what is about to happen with it. I feel like this can't just be stop motion because some of the objects are definitely manipulated so I feel like it must have been created with Motion graphics such as using a program like after effects.
