text based art

Martin Creed uses electric light up letters to write out simple words or phrases. This piece stood out to me because of its ironic way of having the words "small things" so large in a room alone.
Mobstr is a street artist who puts his work in Urban areas. I like his work because it brings up points and ideas that people think but do not talk about. He is an introvert who expresses his thoughts, that others feel too, through these simple works of stenciling words on the walls.
Tracey Emin uses electric letters to express her ideas and I like the idea of the light up words which is why this drew me in, and then after reading the words I liked the saying and simple thought put behind it.

Artists I Like

John Van Hamersveld is an artist whose work I enjoy because of his use of such bright colors and the way that he puts lines and shapes all over to create a piece with little to no "plain" spaces. He keeps his work very busy looking, but in a way that it is enjoyable to look at and not overboard.

Milton Glaser uses organic shapes in his work which is what causes me to like his style. Even when creating work of a real life scene he is able to turn it into a very colorful and organic piece of artwork. This style of many colors and organic shapes are a type of style that I like to paint in so I tend to like his works.

Victor Vasarely has a very unique style that I love. He uses geometric shapes and contrasting colors to create illusions which are very fun to look at. I like the way that any of his works are able to draw me in and keep me interested.
